The year has only just begun and IBM already surprises us with an early announcement of a new high-end mainframe : the IBM z13.
IBM comes with some bold statements regarding its intentions with the IBM z13. It's intended to become the world's premier data and transaction engine enabled for the mobile generation, the integrated transaction and analytics system for right-time insights at the point of impact and the world's most efficient and trusted cloud system that transforms the economics of IT. Or as someone summarized it : IBM launches a new mainframe . . . for Smartphones. You can read all details in this newsletter.
